I have a saying that I like to remind shooters. Being a marksman is about getting better. It isn't about winning. So if you like the sport, stick with it. If you don't like the coach, don't worry, you won't like lots of people in this life. Just don't let one or two people turn you off from doing so...

I know the Savage Mk1's don't get a lot of love, but they are affordable and are made for entry level smallbore. The 1903 is a much better rifle, but it is also $1,515 through the CMP. If torquing down the bolts doesn't fix the issue, then the above suggestion of roughing up the rod with sandpaper is a good place to start. Another thing to do would be use some peel and stick address labels and put them on the rod to increase the lateral thickness to give the stock a better grip. I...

I have not yet shopped in Nurnberg for air rifle supplies, but I know there are two shops in Amberg south of Grafenwoer, one of which carries coats and pants.
