Follow up on my post and others

Respectfully, Ronbott, in my opinion the ESA is as accurate as the Anschutz (granted I have only shot the 1827 and 1427 older models). I disagree about your comments on the accuracy though, when I miss, it is due to myself not due to the rifle. This season I have shot in temperatures ranging from 0 ...

ESA Rifle

I have an ESA Rifle Stock with the Savage Mark II TR on it. I love it!!! You cannot beat the price and it is every bit as accurate as the Anschutz ones I have fired. They are a light weight rifle and fully adjustable. The owner, Clayton is also a great guy and he stands behind his work. Yes it does ...

Air Biathlon Rifle

First, in the interest of being upfront, I am the owner of Maverick Biathlon Products. We have just introduced a new air biathlon rifle based on the Baikal IZH 61. It is a 5 shot repeater and is set up like a winter biathlon rifle. It is designed for 10m target shooting. You can find out about it at...

Breathing

The best training is to just get in great shape and take deep breaths to try and get the oxygen level up. Have her get into a routine when she comes in to shoot, i.e. taking a certain number of deep breaths then breath faster. When I get ready to shoot I take 3 deep breaths and let out the third one...

Forearm Rail

Yes this is a biathlon stock and the rail on the bottom of forearm is for a hand stop where a sling is attached. The rail on the side of the forearm is for a carrying harness. You can check with Altius Firearms out of West Yellowstone, MT www.altiusguns.com for a trigger guard. Or you can order one ...

Better Option

If you have access to a rimfire range, a better choice for practice is to get a lower cost (see other Biathlon Topics) biathlon rifle, that way you are practicing with the same rifle you are competing with. Another option is to get the air rifle and train at the shorter distances previously mentione...

I found this site and love it, glad there is a place to talk and learn about biathlon. I am just getting back into biathlon (used to to it 25+ years ago) and I have an Eastern Sierra Armory Stock. I love it!!!! The National Guard Team that I am on has several old Anschutz rifles, both bolt and fortn...
