Re: Pellets
You should be practicing with the same pellets you compete with. How else do you set up rifle if different when you get to competition if it changed from cheap pellets. Gentlemen. The whole shoot what you practice with statement is completely bogus shooting biathlon pellet rifles. You are shooting ...

Re: Hamerlli ap40
Its a great solid pistol. It lacks adjustability of other pistols, but will put everything in the same hole, just like most target pistols. I chose an FWB P44 based completely on adjustability and the fact that its a mechanical gun, I dont trust electronic ones.

Re: Pellets
+1 on vogel. they have 5k bulk pricing and the stuff will easily outshoot the needs of a biathlon gun. 42 rounds a day? is that 42 rounds or 42 x 20 rounds for the biathlon course......

Re: Feinwerkbau 103 pellet preference?
All my SSP guns seem to shoot best using Vogel Orange pellets. They have very thin skirts and seem to use the limited air very efficiently by sealing very well. Podium now manufactures them. They are different and out of different dies than their match pellets.

I completely agree that the rule sucks, it needed to be written by people that know the isue instead of being a knee jerk reaction.
This rule pisses me off so bad that as soon as I get my foot back together, Im taking my CPM1 on the road instead of my P44.
Let them say no...... I dare them

Re: FWB Models 2, C5, C10, C55, & C60 cylinder availability
The entire reason that there is an ISSF rule on 10 year cylinders is that the EU and US laws on the handling and filling of HP air pressure vessels under 1/2 liter require that they be inscribed with a manufacturing date and condemned 10 years later as they are deemed by law to be uninspectable and ...

There is no 10 year DOT condemnation law for CO2 cylinders. They are in a different pressure vessel class than the High Pressure Air guns.
Shoot your CO2 until your tired of them.

Re: AP20 pro vs. LP500
I have an older Walther CP2 CO2 pistol as well as an LP400, because I want them and I can put up with quirky Walther product support. I have a lot of respect for my learned friend playing armorer for a college program. With that said, a new walther with newish cylinders will get you at least 9 years...

Re: Mid-Level 10m Air Pistol
As a bullseye shooter looking for a mid range gun. Get a CO2 gun. I have a FWB P44 as well as a rack full of CO2 guns. CP2s, FWB Model 2s shoot every bit as well as modern compressed air guns, but I find them just a touch more challenging as nothing I have is as ergonomically perfect as the P44... T...

Re: Air Rifle Tuner
One should look at the Starik tube for what it is, a sight extension. As such, it will score better IF you are capable of aiming the more sensitive sight package. As far as a harmonics tuner, my FWB 800X doesn't need one, Watch the video, the test target shooting is amazing and you see how one is pu...

Re: Using barrel weights and where to attach them
The subject of weights gets to be very personal. While most people think the weights are most effective near the muzzle, that's a very simplistic view. Weights end up where they do on a pistol because the total weight of the gun as well as the polar inertial moment of the gun are what is being chang...

Re: Do We Need Separate Men's and Women's Events
No, let everybody shoot heads up. Women have a structural advantage shooting offhand
due to their hip width and men may have an advantage in strength, so let them line up
and shoot together. OBTW, in Rifle, The Visconti Girls kick my ass, and there aren't nicer assassins

Re: Air pistol training routine for an oldie?
Im 65, have a partial foot amputation so I wobble. My training is to close my eyes, raise the pistol and get the NPA on the target and shift the foot position as needed. Shoot 5 rounds without looking at the scope and sit down and look at what I shot. I wobble standing so I'm no big threat to win, b...

Just for giggles, look at the NRAs website under Marksmanship Qualification. You might find their Air Pistol and International Air Pistol programs interesting.

If you want to get better, shoot Daisy 777 every now and again. It is capable of cleaning the target when in the right hands, which aren't mine. It has a trigger, which if you master it, will give you such a sense of index finger sensitivity that your "real" pistol will shoot as if it is d...

Hi Dave..... Have you blown synthetic oil thru the gun. A lot of times the seals "come back" as they absorb the oil and tighten things up........ You lose nothing for the attempt.......
