Nester,
That would be, and is, my choice.

Re: Which scope/reticle for 50 meters and 50 ft?
I own several rifle scopes for US Competition both smallbore prone and position as well as long range. If I could only have one scope I would opt for a Leupold VX-3,6.5-20x40 EFR with a 1/4 minute Target Dot. It is a most versatile rifle scope and runs about $800 USD. They have excellent customer se...

Re: different 3P targets
Hemmers,
Thanks for the enlightenment, I am not at all familiar with the Field Target Air Rifle discipline.
It is always a good day when one leans something new.

Hap

Re: different 3P targets
The A-36 target is obsolete and has been replaced by the NRA/USAS-50 for all NRA 3P competition. I know of no other place than the USA where sitting is shot competitively. NRA Rule 5.8 Sitting - Weight of the body supported on the buttocks and the feet or ankles, no other portion of the body touchin...

Come Ups from 50 to 100
Red, Dennis L, a very good prone shooter, gives the best advice in that he says come up 7-71/2 minutes. Always think minutes and not clicks. The reason for using minutes over clicks is that is that sights vary from four clicks to a minute to as many as 20 clicks per minute. Knowing your minute to cl...

Target Frames
Mr. Clays,
See Drawing A-36 and A-27 in this document. They are very similar, if not identical, to the Perry frames.

Smallbore Championships
Colleagues, I have shot the Metrics at Bristol once and Camp Perry every year, but one, since 1975. Bristol is on my calendar for 2014. The National Championship is the National Championship regardless of location. The SB Championship has been fired in seven different locations, this will be the eig...

My apologies for my inaccurate language. I should not have written, "The results..." which implies all, but rather "Some results..." which is more logically correct.

Smallbore Move
Chris, Like the juniors you mention I am also emotionally involved in shooting at Camp Perry. This year will be my 36th trip, I have only missed once since 1975, and that was because I was shooting overseas. The powers that be at the NRA have made the decision to displace smallbore for two years to ...
