Re: New ISSF Rules - Partial Summary

I dream about that moment when Technical Committee starts to realize that rifles and pistols are 3-dimensional, not 2-dimensional objects :-)

Re: New ISSF Rules - Partial Summary

This will be surely useful for farsighted shooters as they are interested in having a lens far from the eye. Myope needs to have a lens as close to an eye as possible. Farsihgted shooters will benefit a new rule (if it alows to fix a lens inside the rearsight), myope - not.

Re: New ISSF Rules - Partial Summary

Let's say one, having a perfect vision, uses -5 diopter contact lens and +5 diopter lens in a rear sight. 500 years old idea :-)

Re: Niccolo Campriani and ammo testing vise

It was not my goal to start a new topic on "ammo tests", as there are many already running on TT. Just to notice the article in the ISSF News. As a physicist I like such projects, and even 8 years ago I made my own "clamps" inspired by Mr. Kudelin's idea. First, it gave better gr...

Re: Niccolo Campriani and ammo testing vise

Yes, indeed. However, the statement "This process, however, has always been conducted with a rigid lock" is misleading. Anyway, the project can be fruitful as done in colaboration with Ferrari engineers :-) Case to follow.

Niccolo Campriani and ammo testing vise

The latest ISSF News brings a very interesting interview with Niccolo Campriani. The main subject: the project to develop a recoiling locking clamp for ammo tests. Nice idea, but pretty old. Such clamps are known as Kudelin's vise. What I do not like in the article is the fact that nobody even menti...

Re: ISSF Rule interpretations

..... And WHAT is this: All 3-position finalists are kindly requested to place all unused equipment in their boxes. Is this a rule or a " kindly request ?" "If something is unintentionally missed, a Jury Member or Range Officer can place it in the box. Range Officers and Jury Members...

I hope no IOC officials are reading this topic on the TT Forum... One wants to improve shooting events and to make them more multimedia and TV friendly, and immediately others decide - OK, 2020 you shoot both, live and electronic. Time flies and 2024 we shoot only electronic... Am I too pessimistic?...

Re: SCATT Zero drifting-WRONG

I thought the SCATT system “calibration” was “drifting” from the 10 ring into the 7 or 8 ring after 30 or so shots standing. I was set up with A-17 NRA 50 foot target, set up 10 meters away. I was WRONG. ... Hi, it works like that. That's optics. Of course, it has nothing to do with a sighting prec...

As you are engineer, just look at this problem from a technical point of view. Scoring in decimals is simply a more accurate way of measurment. That's all. From statistical point of view, the old system was more hazardous. For sure. Another question is, if it is good to erase a spark of luck from sh...

Unfortunately, I follow EC only via SIUS results page (btw, the way they present results, particularly with decimals, apparently need to be upgraded, it is horrible now... One knows a momentary total but a shot value is a top secret ... :-) ) When I was on EC Odense and WC Munich, I've realized how ...

Oh, I may assure you that Maik Eckhardt knows perfectly that rule :-) Probably just forgot to close them, that's all. Of course the ISSF cannot make any exceptions for bipods, because it would be so called "opening the door", and no one else than Maik Eckhardt would be the first who immedi...

Hi, The ISSF TV gives great possibility to observe shooters and competition, so I just can offer a modest photo presentation from the World Cup in Munich. I collected these photos when being not on duty for short moments, so there are just few of shooters and events included. Part 1 concerns shooter...

To reduce target rings taking into account that a distance changes but a bullet not at all, use for example excel file, that I prepared many years ago for the High Noon Postal Competition :-)

Just the bipod. It is surely out of the 700/90 mm limit given by 7.4.5.d rule :-)
So... is the bipod a weihgt? ;-)
