The older 41's are very reliable. I bought mine in 1972 and used it in competition until 1983. I ran it on Remington SV back then and now I use SK pistol match. The only thing I have done to the gun was a new factory recoil spring a couple of years ago. Last year I put a scope on my 71/2" barre...

A minor point, Sargent First Class is an Army rank. The stripes on the shirt in the background would indicate an Air Force rank of Master Sargent.

Red Dot sight adjustment

I just installed a Match Dot on my S&W 41. According to my ballistics program a 110 yd "0" would result in my being .15" low at 25 yds and .88" high at 50 yds.. So a25 yd. "0" would put me 1" high at 50 yds. using a center hold. Is this correct or are the resul...

Well, that shows the differences but it still does not explain why there are differences.

Target Size

I had been using 25 yd T&R centers on our local indoor range until I found out it is only 20 yards. I ordered some 20 yard targets. While 20 yards is 80% of 25 yards the target black X-10-9 rings on the 20 yard targets are only 68% of the size of the 25 yard targets. A 25 yard T&R black is 5...

Thanks. The 92 has always felt too big in my small hand so I will stick with the 45. Your load should produce 750 fps according to my Hornady manual. That is a good step down from full house hardball.

Thank you. As a Grand Senior the thought of full power hardball is not something I was looking forward to.

leg match ammo

I am an old shooter, made master in 1970, who has been out of the game for 30 years. Now fully retired I have dusted off the old match guns and started practicing again. Today I got a copy of the current NRA pistol rule book. Looking at the rules for Distinguished Pistol Badge(page 61) I seen the amm...

Hammerli 280 mags

Does anyone know of a source for mags for the Hammerli 280? I have looked all over the net and they seem to be unobtainium.
