On Morini's or any other AP where its hard to get the garden trimmer line to come out of the muzzle, just use a kids drinking straw inserted at the muzzle end and it'll allow the flag line to pass through without issues :)

I made a 7mm wide version of the Steyr trigger too: http://www.shapeways.com/model/850993
You are a star, 7mm is within 0.5mm of what I use so I've just placed an order for 3 matte gold blades :) many thanks for doing that

If a budget of $1000+ is available I would and do recommend the Brunton range of scopes 9 http://store.bruntonoutdoor.com/optics/spotting-scopes/ . I used to be sponsored by Leica and then Swarovski for spotting scopes when on the UK national archery team, but at the ATA trade show in Indy I saw the...

I like the idea of the Steyr one, only think putting me off ordering is I prefer a narrower blade, looking at the pics I'd say one groove/ridge less each side and it'd be perfect. Is this possible or would I have to order and then cut down myself (not ideal if I went with the matt gold)?

Sounds like you used to use Target Plot, a great app if only they still did it and updated it for the apple or android it'd be great. Anyway there is a similar app called Target tracker (http://www.doublealpha.biz/daa-iphone-applications/issf-trainer-application) not quite as refined as target plot ...

You really need to try both, the electronic is a very on/off/dead feel trigger, whereas the mechanical does feel like other mechanical triggers and so has a feel to it if that makes sense. Plus another thing to consider is the grip on both is totally different due to the electronics in the grip its ...

What you'll find is that the size does as you know relate to the width across the knuckles but you will also find some change in the grip volume. A small grip in a large hand will feel like you are strangling it/carrying a plastic bag whereas a grip that fits properly is just that, feels comfortable...

I tried to shoot 15 shots, then rest 10-15 minutes, then shoot another 15. That's too long... 10-15 minutes times 3 equals 30-45 minutes in a 1h45m match. Next year you will have 15 minutes for preparation and sighters and an 1h15m for the 60 competition shots (paper tagets). One hour if electronic...

If it helps, and I could be incorrectly informed but all current mechanical trigger grips will retro fit older LP5's. Also the current LP50 magazines will fit the LP5's (I know this as my coach has a 2003 LP5 and I have a new 2012 LP50) As for where to buy I only know where to buy new in the UK http...

A quick answer is, drop Steyr an email with the serial number and ask them for the manufacture date, I did it last week on an LP50 and had a reply the next day, even telling me where they supplied it to etc

Re: ???

There's and old saying I've always tried to live by, If you have nothing good (constructive) to say, don't say anything. Maybe I.m not asking the right question. After shooting a good target, how do you put it behind you and shoot another? Do you take your right foot and stomp on the big toe of you...

Russ A couple of counter points... The aluminium plate, yes I said a hole say the size of the 9 ring but I also said slightly smaller than their normal 60 shot group size, even a 585 shooter will score the odd 9.2, so if the drilled hole means a final score of 9.5 they will have the odd miss shot. O...

There has been some discussion that doing matches improves or helps with coping under pressure of matches, in 95% of cases this is very true, for the last 5% then they need extra help from a sports psychologist, they don't even have to know anything about the given sport as its not shooting thats th...

David, No I have not seen Russ in person, nor have I seen him shoot, however I am basing my comments on what I have read and not just this thread, I wouldn't be so rude towards Russ, he deserves my respect and so I read for several hours through many of the posts and from that I drew my conclusions....
