But do they need testing?
How many out there with cylinders a lot older that have never been tested?
Does anyone have a strict testing regime for their cylinders?

Compressed Air cylinder testing

I have 2 Steyr CA cylinders dated late 2002. They are both in perfect "as new" condition. They have been stored for the last few years with the pressure down at approx 30 bar. Should they be pressure tested before being used again? If not now, when should they be pressure tested? If requir...

Interesting David.
Is the different lens because of differing light conditions (probably brighter outdoors)?
If same light, I would have guessed the same lens to have the same focus on the front sight?

Chris I'll be a little blunt here. If you want to gamble with water in your cylinders causing corrosion that will cause eventual failure, go ahead. Just think of your shooting buddies, or a family member that may be around when it eventually goes. Moisture and metals/aluminiums don't mix well. Check...

Tighten screws while cocking lever is down/closed or up/loose? Probably better to do with it open, after you have done preliminary setup with it closed. You need to achieve the right amount of crush on the boltface O ring. You want it just tight enough that you stop leakage past the O ring. Check t...

You may have a problem with the barrel position. The 2 screws in top forward part of action housing hold the barrel in place. They have different hole centers, and undoing one/doing the other up adjust the position (forward/aft) of the barrel. This in turn adjusts the pressure of the boltface agains...

If the fixed blade is the only problem, it can very easily be modified, or a new one made.
I wouldnt let it put you off if everything else was right.

Negrin, shoot on the flat steel plate. Safe your eyes! (The turning of this screw is very critical & sensitive.) the first picture - velocity 143 - 150 m/s (470 - 490 feet/sec) - on the left: testing 7,3 grains pellet, on the right: testing 8,4 grains pellet http://www.sskpraha6.cz/foto/rozplac...

You'll know the good shots.

The trigger feels like it releases itself.
The muzzle doesn't move. (LP10)
The sights remain in perfect alignment and at point of aim after the shot is gone.

Adjust your point of impact to reflect these shots.
Don't chase your tail with anything less.

I too think the basic grip size looks about right.
If you feel any minor mods need doing (looks like the area where your thumb muscle ball sits might need lowering), have a go, but the basic size looks just right.

Anyone considering an LP10, please don't be put off by a previous poster saying; "the pressure drops drastically once the sear has been released, requiring the use of an over-travel setting" As I have stated before in another post, my LP10 trigger feels to have no drop-off in weight when t...

Hi Rob, First of all, it has been a great insight and pleasure to read your posts. We seem to be agreeing on this subject without you knowing it. After reading replys, looks like we're all barking up the same tree. I failed to mention (thought it didn't need saying) that to visualise the shot placement before actually looking was critical. That said, a look at the shot placement helps reinforce your thoughts about how the shot was executed. L...

I've got to chime in here. I know that some will shoot me down for this BUT; I think every shots placement should be analised. Whats the point in looking at your group after 5 - 10 shots? How do you recognise a good shot from a bad? How do you fault-find a poor shot on the card if you dont know whic...

My LP10 feels no perceptible drop off in pressure when the sear releases (350/520). I do not have the backlash adjusted out of the trigger as I feel (IMHO) that it is better for the trigger and finger to carry on its normal pressure and movement than to come up to a solid stop (no backlash) as the p...

Steve,

What are you refering to that drops to zero at the trigger release on mechanical AP triggers?
I take it you mean the second stage spring pressure.
How can this be when the second stage spring pressure can still be felt after sear release?
