Admittedly, I am still reather ignorant to some of this stuff, but the way the wording of the rule is made up, could extra weights be considered a method of reducing vibration prior to the shot? A lighter weapon could be more unsteady. I know what you are all getting at, gyro type things would reduc...

Just a thought, have you checked your local Fire Department? Firefighters use the same air that SCUBA does (In fact at a military base iin Korea I was stationed at, the Fire Department filled the tanks for the SCUBA instructor), and they 99% of the time, even most Voulenteer Fire Deprtments, have a ...

Yeah, I live with this on a daily basis being here in Germany. It's at 0.79 EUR to $1 today. Well, it changed at 4pm for the weekend price, which I haven't heard yet. We all usually wait for a big swing (mid to high 0.8x Euro cents to the dollar) then we buy up like $5000-$10,000 worth and bank it i...

Yeah, I'm not going to even attempt to claim to understand all the adjustments this pistol is capable of. I know I can add weight to the front of the barrel to help stabilize the sights. I was looking on Walther's website & they have a design your own AP/AR application. They show 2 trigger confi...

Yeah... it was pretty outstanding. The older gentleman's name was Erich. I didn't get a last name. I wish I was going to be shooting at this range we were on today... it was pretty nice, and I have been to some awesome indoor ranges in the states. I still have to get the landlord to take me to a mor...

I Did It

So, my landlord called me last night and told me to meet him at an address like 40km from my house this morning. I get there, and he has lined up 5 shooters that let me demo their guns on an indoor range specifically for 10m. I got to fire the Styer L-10, the FWB Picollo, the FWB P44, the Walther LP...

Man... I am really enjoying seeing the different viewpoints on this topic. I figured the answer would have been cut and dry. I can see the pros & cons of both sides of the fence here. Thanks for the tip on egun... maybe I can bring back some used pistols & flood the market with cheaper guns ...

No, I get where you are coming from. I just didn't know if the guns were that more fine tuned between the entry & the Olympic style match pistols. I know all these pistols can out shoot the shooter from what I have read. How much "toleration" is there between the Twin Master & the ...

Again, thanks for all the input. I should clarify, I do know some functional German, but looking at learning the totally new terms needed for the sort, and me with probably less than a year left here, it's a daunting undertaking. I talked with my landlord and he's contacting the shooting clubs near ...

Thanks again for all the input. Next question, should I go ahead & join the ISSF? I definately want to get to the competition level. With an ISSF card does that allow you to compete in the states, or will I have to get an NRA card or USA Shooting or whatever? Not that I am opposed, I just don't ...

Thanks ya'll... it's pretty rough interacting with the local population. We live out away from the base a good way and it's usually only the young (teenage) population that speaks English to any degree around our parts. I know my village has a shooting club, but from the looks of it, it's pretty muc...

New Shooter?

Hi all... been lurking for about 2 weeks now, finally got a question to post. So, I searched and it came up with over 141 pages of replies... that's a lot... and none of the topics on the first 10 or so pages looked to answer my question, so here it goes. I am about to plunk down the cash to buy a p...
