Re: Winchester 52D -Still Competitive in Smallbore Prone?

As far as being competitive, yes you can be. As long as you do your part when it comes to firing the shot, and take the time to match some ammo to the rifle. I'm one of the lucky ones who gets to shoot one of the international match 52's, with access to two more. From what I've read the internationa...

As a shooter I would be willing to pay for some coaching, and as a coach I would be willing to get paid. I help coach at the junior rifle program that I came out of as a way to give back, and also because I enjoy helping other shooters. I coach with two other coaches on Thursday nights, then on Sund...

I don't know what you'd do for the rear sight, but champions choice has a base that allows you to mount an anschutz front sight to a standard base. The catalog number is 001078.

I haven't taken any of them apart that we have yet, but since you're asking about a 1451, have you found a place that has parts for them?

At the club I coach/shoot at we use snap caps. We've found it easier then using spent cases, and most of the guns we have we can't get dry firing pins for. The only bad thing about snap caps is with heavy use they will eventually break and if it gets stuck in the extractor it's a pain in the butt to...

Don't know if it's an option for you, but you can make one out of the halogen work light stands. They don't hold up as well as you would think since they're designed for construction, but they get the job done. Over here with a light they're a lot cheaper then one of the actual offhand stands.

One thing I found when building my kneeling position was how far above my bicep the sling was changed how my hand felt. I tried it with the sling right above my bicep then kept moving it higher until it started to feel unsteady or there was pain. Then I would move it back down. It was just a matter ...

'Dude has many good points. Another thing to consider is where you have the sling on your arm. Is it too high or too low.

Probably a dumb question. How does it work? Do you take a picture of your target after you're done shooting? I'm not sure if I'm just not understanding the description or what. I'm new to smart phones so I'm still trying to figure everything out about apps and how some of them work.

Could he have started canting the rifle since last year? Or was he canting last year and not this year? If he is starting to cant the rifle, but doesn't have the butt plate set up for canting then that could be part of his problem and vice versa.

At the program I help coach at we shoot precision small bore. Not sure if that is what you are planning on doing. For kids 8-10 depending on how big they are we either have them on Remington 510's or we have a couple of the older chipmunks that are actually good rifles unlike what they make now. For...

I'm pretty lucky my home range has a 50 foot indoor range, and an outside range that goes out a pretty good distance. When I'm practicing prone I spend most of my time outside at 50 yards. I practice at 100 yards the least amount, but I shoot my highest scores at 100 yards. When I'm practicing for p...

Ok. One thing that seems to be working for our program is having the advanced kids shoot twice a week, one of which is a day only for advanced kids. Which in your case if some of them are already shooting 3 times a week then that's even better. When we have them meet we tend to have them shoot at le...

Hi I help run a program here in California. First I have a couple of questions. I know you said your shooters have traveled to a couple of national matches, but do they have their own equipment or are they using the clubs? Also how many shooters are in your program, and how many are considered advan...
