Looks like the reality is a bit different to the intentions at this early stage. Grzegorz has just posted some observations over in the Shooters Lounge from the recent Grand Prix in Wroclaw, Poland. Quote: International Competitions “Grand Prix of Wroclaw” (Poland) is over. As a TD I have collected ...

Certainly no need to spend hundreds of dollars IF your interest is being able to see your scores as you make them. If you want a true electronic scoring system at decimal scoring accuracy levels then you are really paying for very high tech measurements which will never be that cheap given the relat...

It ain't about sport any more it's about money. Sounds like Coke didn't like their ads being sandwiched in between two large sweaty guys wearing very little and fumbling with each other for twenty minutes - no matter what the heritage said. The day something 'better' or let's say more commercial com...

Getting laid off is a bum situation and like anything else that challenges your security it will have an effect on your shooting just as much as the rest of your life. After all as Maslow's Theory suggests your security is your most basic natural instinctive concern. However, as you have found - it ...

You might want to look at Adidas weight lifting shoes as favoured by certain well known Korean shooters. They are expensive (for me!) at about £120UK but provide a flat wide platform and due to their design they tend to push your weigth forward to give a bit more tension in the lower leg. I don't kn...

Thanks for the very interesting replies. They all so far seem to agree on one point - that is no 'correct' way, just a personal preference. I am surprised that there is no apparent 'science' behind this though and would also suspect that the Koreans may beg to differ on these matters too. Yes it is ...

No replies??
Cannot understand the overwhelming silence -171 views but not one single response to my qu. Given that level of interest I suspect a large number of people would like some sort of input. Unless this is the Holy Grail of Target Pistol Shooting only taught to the Secret Order of Korean and Eastern Eur...

Stage 1 & 2 trigger weight differences?
I read Mattswe's interesting post concerning when to apply trigger pressure but it raised a new qu. for me - what difference in pressure and travel is recommended or works for you between stage 1 and stage 2? I recently re-set my stage 1 to a minimal travel - ~1mm movement before taking up the stage...

I agree with Zuckerman but with a slightly lower cost. I use a laptop together with a USB webcam cable linked over 10m. Webcam costs very little ($15 or less) and you may already have a laptop too. There is a very useful delay between shot and the picture being refreshed which means that there is no...

I have my doubts too - for three reasons. Like you I emailed for info about 14 days ago and had no reply - as yet. A friend in my Club also emailed abpout 4-5 months ago and did get a reply form someone who dealt with 'orders' who happened to be leaving. His enquiry was passed to someone else who th...

A Gold Medal for the USA
Looks like 'Curiosity' just got a gold in the Rapid Fire Laser Pistol event of the Moon Olympics. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/space/9486622/Mars-rover-Curiosity-fires-laser-at-Martian-rock.html It also appears that whoever trained 'her' did a better job than a few in the London Olympic Pentat...

Pentathlon laser pistols - Olympic 'sport'
I watched with interest the Modern Pentathlon at the London Games - mainly because one of our Finest Ladies won a medal - well done her! However, I was quite surprised to see the use of laser LP10's in use by the competitors some of whom might have performed better after a bit of coaching in the use...

Now if you really want something to complain about you should live here in the good 'ole UK . We are blessed with a great set of Games so far with some superb results (including shooters from USofA) but can we watch them on tv - nah! All rights bought by NBC and if you don't have an NBCTV card you'r...

Update...
Had a couple of hours this morning to explore this issue a bit further. The LP10 is about 1 year old and has had about 5000 shots through it. It was lightly used by a previous owner that took good care of it. On purchase I measured the trigger weight (2nd stage) and had it set to 550g but never both...

LP10 Dry fire trigger weight surprise
Sorry if this is a well known issue but it did surprise a few at the Club today. I decided to check my Steyr LP10 (mechanical trigger) for trigger weight to ensure it is set as I had believed at beyond the 500g mark. I had done my own measurements as accurately as possible at home but the Club had a...
