From what we have found by testing 7 or 8 types of pellets in an 888 is that they shoot almost every match-grade pellet well. We use mostly Vogel orange from Pilkington for most of our competitions.

The Valiant is a different story...

Re: Aperture Change during Comp? - SPORTER

I've checked the rules and it seems that it is OK for a competitor to change out their front apertures during a match. Had this come up a few weeks ago at a match and I could not find any reason not to. He was changing sizes between each position. NRA or 3P Council rules? I'm not sure what it's lis...

We have 2 of the Walthers, and both have had the same problem.

Looks like we are not alone.

They were reasonably priced from the CMP, but it looks like a FWB or an Anschutz are a better choice in the long run.

Consider also the Steyr LP2 Jr (available from our host) It's light, the x-small grip fits a child's hand, and dry fire is a snap. When I was shopping for an AP for my daughter, it and the Tau jr were the practical choices on account of availability, and the LP2 won out because of dry-fire simplici...

I would say that no matter what rules govern, a shooter must keep all of his or her body and equipment inside the area marked as their lane - I don't think you need to whip out a rule book to figure that out. You could have made your gun safe and spoken to that range officer about it. It's his job t...

It gives more information about overcoming the difficulties that leaders face and the challenges of running a competitive junior program.

That's basically the focus of the "Youth Shooting Programs" section.

I haven't installed a rebuild kit, and don't recall an o-ring inside, so it may just be a new o-ring for the cylinder. It would be off-white and about the diameter of your little finger. To lighten the trigger you will be cutting the 2 springs and removing some material. I haven't done it in a while...

I have that already, but it is too complicated for the begining shooter to read (especially if they are 13 years old). True. We don't use it for our shooters, just coaches. The AMU marksmanship manuals are a good starting point for shooters. The CMP sells them for about $4. The CD from Bob Foth (as...

I haven't seen any really good 3P videos, but do you have the book Ways Of The Rifle?

Pilkington has them the last I checked. As far as improving your 3P or AR scores it's the best $55 you will ever spend.

Re: Champions Choice Handstop CC4748

The handstop I mean is the CC4748 show here. The swivel has a quick disconnect, and the socket (the silver part stays on the gun). I like this better than the Daisy "blue tab" These are the ones we have used from the beginning. We do have them take it (handstop) completely off in standing...

I would have to look the rules over, but I think the only stock mods allowed are build-up of the cheekpiece. In the rules it states something like the only mods allowed are the ones specifically noted, if it's not noted it's not allowed. I talked to the 3P Council a while back about using the rubber...

Hi Joel, That stock would sure help the 888! For $50 it is a lot easier than doing all of the work to make a mold (I don't have to tell you that). I agree with cmj - the lack of drop (depth/thickness) of the stock at the trigger guard can be a big problem with smaller (shorter) shooters. They end up...

We have had very good luck with rifle shooters using their dominant eye. I would say we probably have 4 or 5 of our 25 rifle shooter that are cross-dominant. Our best precision shooter (top-10 at the 2005 NRA air gun championship) is RH and left eye dominant. When she started shooting she tried both...
