Perhaps he meant using a standard pistol to shoot the free pistol match, something which is fairly common when you don't own a specifically designed single shot free pistol.
The best free pistol score in our club over the past few years was shot with a Mk 2 Ruger bull barrel.

Nope.
10m from target to shooting line over which you cannot place your foot. The bench is in front of the line.

Dev, I hope you stopped reading after your last reply and have been concentrating on developing your mind to minimise the intrusion of random thoughts. This thread has certainly degenerated into some ego bashing and chest beating of which none of us should be proud. When shooting, if you eliminate t...

I agree with Brian here. The mental aspect of shooting, to clear the head of random thoughts, is in my opinion the hardest thing to master. We have all read much about the correct stance, hold, sight picture etc etc. Most of us with a few years experience could shoot 10's much more often if there wa...

Not sure that trying to stand perfectly still in church would be a help. The body needs to be out of balance during physical training so the muscles that correct balance can be toned and are then able to come into play to prevent wobble when we are shooting. Try moving your body in a controlled figu...

Then the matches are not being shot under ISSF rules.
The air pistol should have its trigger weight checked, it should pass the sizing box and weight requirements.
At club competitions it is not done but certainlky at all open shoots.

Try aiming for the general area half way between the black and the bottom of the card. You can wander between the 3 and 4 rings in your alignment and the shot will still be a 10. The positive of shooting such a sub-six area aim is that your mind comes to accept the sights being in that comfortable c...

Are you referring to a dimple in the base of the .22 case so that the priming compound can flow evenly to the edges of the case before setting? I have seen it on some ammo a few years back, might have even been Federal Gold Medal Federal 711B does not have that dimple, not on the two cases I have bo...

From what I understand 711B was developed for specifically pistols (US Olympic team????) and the 719 for small bore rifles. Both are in identical boxes except for the small code number written on one end. There have since been Gold Medal 992A and UM22A developed, both of which I think are for rifle....

My problem is that you have to sort out the best performing ammo over and over again. I have found variations between batches to be considerable. It is one reason I stopped using Eley in my standard pistol. So annoying to find something which your pistol likes and which gives tight groups, and then ...

The question I must ask is "Were the doubles in the 10 ring?" If not, you must question your sights and make the necessary adjustments. OR (if happy that your sights are right) Question what repeatable error you are making in delivery of your shot. I will often shoot a tight group of touch...

Spencer I have seen at open shoots here in Victoria, one very highly credentialed female shooter consistently point her .22 pistol towards the ceiling as she pulls the slide to cock it. Another, one of Australia's top juniors frequently rests her wrist on the table with the barrel of her cocked pist...

That's the problem. He doesn't know of anyone using a MG4. I haven't seen one on the firing line at open competitions, not to say there wasn't one, but not in my detail. I take it that from the limited replies, either not too many shooters are using one, or those who have them are not having problem...

MG4 - Any comments?

I have a mate who is not too computer literate so I am posting for him. He is considering buying a MG4. Does anyone have any comments - good or bad, teething problems etc which I can pass on to him. And for those wondering - No I am not giving up my S&W revolver to buy a pop gun. It really is a ...

It looks so much like the FWB AW93 that I hope it is as easy to take apart, and not like the IZH35M in that respect. Really Paulo, my IZH is easy to take apart. In fact it came apart all by itself when I cocked it for rapid fire the other day. I must have bumped that button beneath the lower barrel...
