Victory lap is a scammer, goes by the name of Skyler Coya Murray, supposedly lives in UT and uses crll number 909-255-0693

He doctored a photo of an anschutz 2002 that he sent earlier to me to put the date on a sticky then turned the picture. He also wanted me to send money to a Paula Howell in Jacksonville FL since he is buying an air gun from her and will send me his

He also likes to send out a picture of his drivers license and conceal carry permit

janechris351 is spamming multiple web-boards across the internet, including target talk. Simply search the user name (on the internet) and see for yourself. Use caution when dealing with this user. This user may have multiple other usernames....see attached

Please suggest that others review this thread, before sending their money to a known criminal. Of course, there will always be new ones.

With a little knowledge we can all be internet sleuths! I hope this helps you!

Before sending your hard earned money to a spammer/scammer, maybe search this website to see what you find...

Victorylap tried to get me. Used the name Skyler Coya Murray from Herriman UT and sent me a pic of a driver's license. I suspect it was taken somehow from the rear Skyler Murray. Email was roady96@gmail.com

I'm suspicious of custom.project 62@gmail.com. Offered a KK500 for sale but when I insisted on escrow or delivery to their local gun shop before payment they went away.

Scammers are everywhere friends so be careful!

Beware of the user MenFaxx. He responds via the email address reightradingbst@gmail.com. He emailed me a reply to a post about a Walther LP500 that just didn’t seem quite right. After becoming suspicious and searching on this forum and others, there are numerous reports of this email address being tied to someone trying to scam with fake items and copied pictures.

From the initial post...and worth repeating...

"Also, look at the other users commenting on the sellers posts. Are they members with a long history? Or, are they also new members? (I think this is a big tell. New members upvoting/downvoting new members seeking to increase perceived legitimacy. (More likely than not, it is the same person using different log ins, up-voting/downvoting themselves.))"

The funny thing is, in the ISSF/Bullseye/International shooting communities most of us know each other, or know someone who knows the other.... There are not 6 degrees of separation in the shooting community- more like 1 degree.

Talk to the prospective buyer/seller. What match were they last at? Who do they know in our community? Who will vouch for them? Sending $1000's of dollars into an unknown void is surely a leap of faith. Be certain you are willing to lose the funds, if you are wrong.

I have noticed that, where you are the seller, and the buyer agrees to pay with a trusted source (Paypal, USPS Money order) those transactions are generally good, even for new users. If the potential buyer tries to send you payment via an unknown (unapproved by you) source- do not accept it. Send it back. There will be another buyer.

Be careful, my friends.

He’s trying to bait me, but using a Connecticut number 860

Once he sent the photoshopped pics, it was easy to spot

I think I have to unfortunately add another name to this list. I was messaged by coupja in response to my wtb post. This one is good though, because he said all the right things and the picture he sent was of the correct item. Unfortunately though, after I paid for it, the same picture popped up from the striton forums under a different user name. I paid thursday, and he said he would get back to me with shipping info, but here we are 4 days later, and now hes ignoring my messages. I hope I am wrong and I have to come back here and eat crow, but its not looking too good for me. Lesson learned the hard way I guess.

Update: "seller" messaged me to be calm, hes been working double shifts. he will mail it out tomorrow. " tomorrow" was today. His activity showed him online at 7:21 pm and he left me no new messages. Pretty sure its a scammer now.

coupja
Responded to a WTB Matchgun MG2 and MG4 post I had placed and offered to sell me a like new in the box MG4 for $800.00. When I asked want ammunition he used he replied 6.5x55 Sako.

thor348
Also responded to my WTB with an offer to sell a MG4.
When I questioned what ammo he shot he said Speer plinkers and SK???
His reloading description was almost word for word from a post by buonvento on 1-16-2011.
He sent me pictures of the targets he said he shot. I Google image searched the photos and the original target photos and verbiage similar to his description of the shooting came from a post on Bullseyes forum 4-3-2019.

Its a sad day when you have to question the information a seller provides.
